Pretty Lady

Pretty Lady sits on the first floor of Nana Plaza, the neon warren off Sukhumvit Soi 4 where Bangkok’s after-dark tourist strip packs go-go bars shoulder to shoulder. From the corridor you catch the purple-blue script and lit silhouettes before the glass doors; a pink LED strip runs the floor like a runway into the room. Inside, the light goes red and electric blue. Poles rise against a mirrored wall, the circular bar glows at the stools’ bases, and pink neon hearts and a cursive Pretty Lady sign keep the space intimate rather than cavernous. The stage and floor fill with women in black lingerie and short dresses — the classic Nana incall rhythm of watching, buying a drink, and deciding who comes closer.
